Finance for UK SME owners: pick a task, follow the map
Small business finance in the UK comes with a long list of rules, dates and forms, and most guidance is written for accountants rather than the people running the business. Each Route Map takes one task an owner has to get right and lays it out as a short series of stops, in the order you will actually meet them.
You will find maps on VAT registration, director's loans and Companies House filing deadlines, with more on bookkeeping, payroll and year end on the way. Every stop links to the official source, usually GOV.UK or the legislation itself, and shows the date we last checked it, so you can see the rule is current before you act on it.
Route Maps are general information, not personal advice. If your situation is unusual, talk to your accountant.
